Shaikh Lennard had a hat trick in leading Rainbow to a come from behind 4-3 victory over Enis Adams in their 12 and Under matchup, in the BDO Schools Football League, with four unanswered scores.
Miguel Marshall helped Enis Adams race to a 3-0 lead in the first 21 minutes of play, with scores in the 18th and 20th, before Shiloh Dawson capped what would be their last goal in the 21st. Lincoln Forbes cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 29th minute, before the Lennard show began. Lennard completed his hat trick within an eight minute span, scoring in the 31st, 32nd and 39th.

BDO Schools Football League action continues unabated

With the first month of action coming to a close and the finals just over a month away, action in the BDO Schools Football League continued unabated, with several exciting matches in all divisions.
Alex Fountain had a hat trick as U-7 Cedar 2 beat Althea Scatliffe Maroon, 3-0. Fountain scored in the 11th, 12th and 26th.
Seventh Day Adventist stopped the West End Tigers, 2-1, in their Under 13s encounter. Larique Austire 2nd, and Randel Hammerding, 17th, had the Seventh Day Adventist scores. Ajai Frett scored for the Tigers in the 24th.
Joy Schneider had four goals within 10 minutes span, in leading Seventh Day Adventist past Enid Scatliffe Grey, 4-0, in their 7 and Under contest. Schneider found nets in the 9th, 10th, 15th and 19th minutes of play.

Defensive battles highlight BDO Schools Football League

A series of defensive battles highlighted the second week of the BDO Schools Football League 2012 action.
Enid Scatliffe’s Red J’Hari Lacey earned game MVP honors as they played their Enid Scatliffe Maroon counterparts to a 0-0 score in their Under 7 contest.
In another defensive Under 7s battle, Seventh Day Adventist’s Omari Hurst garnered MVP laurels, during their 0-0 draw with Cedar 2.
Sheldon Harry scored in the 21st and St. Georges capitalized on an Althea Scatliffe own goal, for a 2-1 triumph in their Under 9 encounter. St. Georges’ Stephon Delon was the game’s MVP.
Bregado Flax and Cedar played to a 1-1 draw in their Under 9 match. Game MVP Shamoi Dore, gave Bregado Flax a lead they would hold for eight minutes, before Jake Hallet equalized in the 30th.

BDO Schools Football League 2012 kicks off with fun and goals

Goals galore, tons of fun and rain highlighted the kick off of the BDO 2012 Schools Football League last week, which has attracted 600 players from public and private primary and high schools in the territory. Action kicked off with the Under 7s, where Enid Scatliffe Pre-Primary Blue beat Enid Scatliffe Pre Primary Red, 2-0. Sherwood Charles (5) and Deandre Rogers (15) were the scorers.
Azani Callwood scored twice (8,15) in another Under 7 matchup, in leading First Impression past Cedar One, 2-0.
Hat tricks by Noah Leese and Luka Chalwell helped Cedar to a 9-0 triumph over St. Georges in the Under 9 division. Zach Jackson added 2 goals to the tally and Lanton Green added another.

BDO Schools Football League 2012 kicks off with colorful parade

Over 550 students from 20 public and private primary and secondary schools throughout the territory marched from the Road Town Ferry Terminal to the A. O. Shirley Recreation Grounds on Sunday afternoon, signaling the start of the BDO Schools Football League 2012.
After the parade and line up of teams, BVI Football Association officials, along with BDO officials, Ag. Governor Inez Archibald and Premier Dr. Hon. Orlando Smith, also making remarks.
“I want to thank Cassandra Gregg, Vincent “Nabu” Samuel and all the coaches around the British Virgin Islands who have been providing step by step assistance and coaching because today, we are seeing the fruits of their labor,” said Avanell “Clarky” Morton, BVIFA Program Coordinator. “Thanks to BDO for marketing this event and making it possible throughout the territory.“
Including participants from Anegada and Jost Van Dyke, Morton said he hopes to see them making future national teams.
